My sister's family's house burned down to the ground at Oak Tree Ranch. Everything they owned burned down. Looking for a working refrigerator for them and clothing for their teenage daughter who is very tiny, probably size 1 to 3 or size small. 5'2". They are also looking for a dining room table and chairs.

If you have either of these things or anything a family can use in a home where everything is gone (no household goods or furniture!), please write me at kathyn2@yahoo.com thanks!

from Joda Kelly to all in need especially those with children..go to the red cross/fema station and if you have lost your home (including renters) they will give immediate emergency money to help and provide other resources. All of these resources are in one place on Montecito. By the fair grounds..are bottled water and food resources as well as hot meals and showers. The only thing I can't seem to find is a furniture source. My sons lost everything and while fema and redcross will help with food and clothing I can't seem to find furniture and they have none..any suggestions??

from Tiffany:
If they are in the military have them call San Diego Military Outreach Ministires, they have furniture, clothing and food available in their warehouse which they will give. http://www.Sandiegomom.org/

With a FEMA # you can shop at Ramona Food and clothes closet for clothes and furniture.

Where can we get sifters to sift through the ashes?

Anonymous said...

I read on Ramonarelief.com that Pat's Field of Dreams Nursery on 67 is making sifters. Home Depot donated the material. They are free, but they ask that you return them when finished so others can use them.

No electricity since Oct 26,2007 @ Starlight Mtn Rd and old Julian Hwy. Any idea when it will be restored. Thank you.

Anyone know if the fire dept would have removed my propane tank from my BBQ? Not sure if it was theft during the fire or if it was the fire dept being proactive. Just seems odd if it was theft.

how do we get a burned out car off our property? any free or cheap businesses out there that can do it?

The UT has an article in the 11/9 paper about the county offering free cleanup. Go to sdcountyrecovery.com for info.

I have a couple of small cats that need a home now since mine is gone now. They survived the fire less whiskers. One had a little damage to paws and ears but they are looking better now. They used to be in acres of fenced yard and are in a large pen at the moment. If you have a heart for cats and would like to adopt one or both email me at mycatwilatackyou@aol.com They are indoor/outdoor

I collected a lot of clothing a few weeks ago for fire victims and I could continue to collect clothing and other items if needed. One thing I did was email (Craigslist & The Pennysaver) people who were having garage sales and asked if I could pick up clothing and other misc. items after their sale. People were very responsive and this is my suggestion that could help others or you could go out to the garage sales and just ask for donations when their sale is over. I picked up some nice clothing and donated it to fire victims at the reservations and I could do it for Ramona as well. Email ronijet@yahoo.com

Heather Walker - I have collected clothing for men and women along with some ball caps and jackets. I also have some kitchen items such as canisters, glasses, dishes and serving utensils. Other items I have collected are kids books, puzzles, games, plastic crates, some Christmas decorations, various athletic items, a chair and ottoman, couch, 2 large speakers, HP scanner, keyboard among other items. I would love for fire victims who can use them to have them. If you need any items like this I can bring my truck with everything for you to look through to Ramona or where ever is close to you. Please call my cell and let me know where we can meet (858) 692-0322.
